Pin Up GarterBe smooookiiing hot!What is a pin up garter?  First of all, this is a garter belt that was very popular during the time of pin up models until the 1960's. An undergarment that was so fashionable back then. A garter or a garter belt was a piece of fabric that fit around the waist and had several long stretchy attachments that could be hooked onto the stockings. Most often, there are at least four and six attachments in all. The six-attachement garter belt, three attachments on each side were connected to the stockings, usually one in the front of the leg, one in the back, and one on the outer side of the thigh.  Back in the days, some women preferred a garter belt with only four attachments which would connect the stocking to the garter belt merely in the front and the back of the thigh. However, these were not thought as secure as it cannot function well just like the six-attachment version. Pin up garter is frequently associated with eroticism, even though it is made as a functional garter belt. Still, in the 1940s to the 1950s, pin up models were often featured wearing bras, panties, garter belts and stockings. With that, garters are thought to be sexy garments and you can still find them in lingerie stores or places where you can buy silk, fishnet or nylon stockings. Generally, they are considered to be a lingerie accessory rather than a necessity in the modern day.  Pencil skirts were a “hit” during the 1940's and these skirts left little to the imagination and certainly letting everyone know you were wearing a garter belt. Today, there are still garters and most of them have a spandex and Lycra blend that makes them strecth to fit and they are virtually invisible under even the sniggest sexy mini skirt. So, if you're looking for garters worn by pin up models back in the days, you are in for some good news because there are a lot of them that you can find especially through the Internet.
