Learn the tricks of the trade to get THE hottest, head turning, seductive lips.
On a side note...I just read in an article online about how they create their best lips and one site said that if you're going for bright lipstick, DO NOT apply eyeliner. Hmmmm...have they heard of Pin Ups and how drop dead gorgeous we are???
I don't think they did!
Well, lesson there ladies...if you are a Pin Up it would be a crime if you did not do the
cat eye look
! Furthermore, they continue to say that you should avoid red nail polish if you're doing these bright lips. Oh did I exit that site ASAP!
Ok...back to lips.
What you need:
exfoliator
loose powder & brush
Red lip liner
Stunning Red Lipstick
(If your complexion is pink, you'll look better in plum shades, while girls with orangy/yellow tones are flattered by warmer reds that have a brown base)
toilet paper
concealer
Step 1: Prepare the lips
Exfoliation time!! You want to make sure your skin is prepared nicely so your lips don't peel and look un-kissable creating the opposite effect which you originally intended to do.
So many options for exfoliation of your skin from head to toe.
The tube exfoliators that aren't harsh enough, the crazy wool things that are way too harsh, I've tried using aspirin as an exfoliator, different exfoliators for every part of your body, however I found the best solution that can appropriately exfoliate my whole body, head to toe-including eyes and lips (the so called areas where you should be extra gentle).
Inexpensive, natural, long lasting, durable-producing THE BEST effects you have ever seen!
Cover them completely with powder. This helps your lipstick from sliding off.
Step 3: Line your lips
Lip liner helps define the lip line and prevents the lipstick feathering or bleeding out from the lip line (i.e. leaking beyond the lip line). Outline your lips with your chosen lip liner neatly and then fill in your lips with the lip liner to make the lipstick and the lip liner last longer.
Make sure you don't forget to line the corners of your mouth as they will be very visible when you talk. So you don't want to have gaps there.
Step 4: Apply lipstick
It's best to use a lipstick brush to apply the lipstick instead of applying it straight from the tube. It gives a smoother, sexier, more even effect that way.
Step 5: Repeat the steps!
To make the red lipstick stay on extra long, after you apply the first coat of lipstick, blot it with a tissue, apply a small amount of any cosmetic powder and then put on second coat of lipstick and gloss on top of it. It will stay on forever, just don't overdo it with the powder as it can get a bit heavy.
Step 6: Make your lips POP!
With your concealer and a small concealer brush, go over the outside lines of your lips with it. The lightness of the concealer will make your lips look fuller.
Make sure you blend the concealer in with the rest of your foundation so there is no defining line of where the concealer ends.
Viola!
6 easy steps! So simple!
Final note about bright lipstick. The older you get, try to opt for a darker shade of red or not such an extreme shade e.g. rosy red.
A lot of the time, the brighter reds look better on younger complexions, however, obviously this isn't a hard rule. If you want to wear brights - go for it. And we may even be completely wrong.
